Be Your Own Guinea Pig

Too many people out there spend too much time searching for the perfect training program; far too many trainers and coaches out there claim to have the perfect training program.

I’m going to let you in on a huge training secret:

There is no perfect program.

That’s right. Stop searching for the “best” program out there. There are TONS of great, effective training methods out there. The key is finding what works well for you. On top of that, it’s a good idea to keep your training fresh. Change up your program every so often (usually every 1-3 months, depending) and rotate your exercises every 4-6 weeks.

The bottom line here is to experiment and see what works for you. Not everything works the same for everybody. Some people respond better to different volumes of training. And don’t forget that after a while of training with one method, your body adapts and your results become stale. Switch it up to keep seeing results.

Unless your paycheck depends on your training program, you have the luxury of being able to experiment with different training programs to see what works best for you. Keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to try something totally different. For all you know, it may be just what you needed to see astonishing results.
