“Phytonutrient Gap” Lowers Most Americans Immune Function

by Chris on November 1, 2010

It’s that time of year again. Cold and flu season is upon us. A new report indicates that most Americans don’t take a crucial step towards preventing themselves from getting sick: eating lots of fruits and vegetables.

According to the report, adults who don’t eat enough fruits & vegetables also tend to fall short in Vitamins A, C and E, as well as zinc and selenium. Research suggests that these nutrients may help support healthy immune function.

The report was released by the Nutrilite Health Institute, a worldwide organization of experts dedicated to helping people achieve optimal health.

What’s the bottom line here? Eat better. It could make the difference between staying healthy this winter or getting that cold that’s going around the office.
